Youth Ministry is an important element of the overall mission of the SDA Church of the Oranges as we attempt to combat the pressures of the media and peer groups on our young people. We recognize the tremendous power and influence that dedicated, well-organized leadership has in guiding the growth and development of our youth and our aim is to provide opportunities for them to develop into mature Christians and responsible citizens. Our expectation is that they will be worthy examples of true believers and contribute selflessly to their community and the world. 

Youth With Purpose is a group determined to make community service a lifestyle. The group is comprised of approximately 25 to 30 youth ranging from the ages of 12 to 17. They meet every 1st and 3rd Sabbath, immediately after church service, to visit local homeless shelters where they serve food, and distribute clothing and toiletries. All of these items are provided by their church family.

 Youth With Purpose

The group has been publicly recognized and praised by the local mayor and has been featured in the local newspaper. Recently, Youth With Purpose won the Community Leadership Award from H.A.N.D.S. Inc.—a community development cooperative based in Orange, New Jersey. The group was featured earlier this year in Insight magazine as an outstanding example of youth ministry and more recently in the new "Let's Talk Newsletter" for Adventist youth.

There are several other groups in our church, each catering to different age groups and activities.  These groups include our Adventist Youth Society (AYS); Adventist Junior Youth (AJY); Pathfinders, Adventurers, and others.
