Women with a Purpose

The Women's Ministries Department exists to uphold, encourage, and challenge Adventist women in their pilgrimage as disciples of Jesus Christ and members of His world church.

At the Church of the Oranges we provide opportunities for women to grow in their personal relationship with God, to serve Him and the church with their spiritual gifts, and to enjoy friendship with God and one another.

We believe …

  • That as women we are unique and possess specific spiritual, physical, social and emotional needs that are best met through the ministry of other women.
  • That women long for relationships with other women, and it is important to provide opportunities for this to take place.
  • That God is in control of this ministry.
  • That lives are transformed through God’s Word.
  • That each woman is valued by God.
  • That God has given each of us unique gifts and talents to be used to build up the church
  • We must include everyone and serve all.

“Praying Mothers” and “Praying Sisters”

Prayer can work wonders; it changes things!  We lift up our sons and daughters, nieces and nephews and all our children in prayer.  We meet the 2nd Sabbath of each month following the Divine Service.

Telephone Ministry

For the person who is sick, discouraged, lonely and neglected, it is a blessing to receive a telephone call.  A telephone call can do the following:

v     Help eliminate doubt and restore faith.

v     Let the suffering know someone cares and make their pain a little easier to bear.

v     Be the stimulus that will bring the discouraged to the next church service.

v     Let the new convert know that her “new” family welcomes her as a member.

v     Express appreciation to those serving the church faithfully and commendably.

"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another"
