Lifelong Weight Management 2006  


This program was presented by the Health Ministries Department of the SDA Church of the Oranges, as a free service to the community and has now ended. The program was sponsored by the Heywood Avenue Elementary School PTA.

A summary of each of the six sessions is posted below along with pictures from the class including the biggest losers during the six-week session.

 

  First Week  Start by increasing fluid intake but skip sodas
  Second Week  Look for ways to increase physical activity
  Third Week  Go high with fiber and protein; low on carbs and fats
  Fourth Week  Pump iron to increase metabolic rate and burn more calories
  Fifth Week  Monitor portion sizes; eat less but more often
  Sixth Week  Lifestyle, diet and cancer risk
