| "More than one thousand will
soon be converted in one day, most of whom will trace their first
convictions to the reading of our publications." - Colporteur
Ministry, p. 151.
Literature evangelists (formerly known as colporteurs) are church members who dedicate time taking from home to home Adventist literature to sell, leave on donation, or give as free literature. They may also pray with the individuals or offer them personal Bible studies if that opportunity arises. They earn a living while witnessing for Jesus. During the summer, academy- and college-age students can earn money to help pay their school tuition by being part of the Student Literature Evangelist program. We have a supply of Bibles, tracts, and evangelistic books on hand for distribution by church members to their friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers, etc. A plan is underway to give away sermon tapes and CDs by the pastor and other speakers.
