I grew up on a farm in Guyana. My father was an Elder in the local Seventh-day Adventist church. I attended the Seventh day Adventist school during my formative years and was an ardent follower of the Seventh Day Adventist teachings but was never baptized.

At the age of 19 I joined the Guyana Police Force and served there for nine years. I became dissatisfied with law enforcement and emigrated to the United States to study engineering. I graduated from the RCA Institute with an Associate Degree in Electro Mechanical Technology and then went on to the City University of New York, School of Engineering where I completed my Bachelors Degree in Electro Mechanical Technology.

I then joined Xerox Corporation as a Technical Service Representative in 1974 and became a District Manager, Technical Service in 1984. I worked at Xerox for thirty two years and took a retirement package when one was offered in 2006.

I was baptized in 2003. It is the best decision that I have ever made to follow God. As I look back on my life I believed that it occurred at the right time. My experience with church members had not been very positive. In my search for truth I studied with the Jehovah Witnesses but concluded that the SDA church had the 'right' teachings. I was also looking at people's behaviors and did not want to become a member if my behavior would be the same.  I know from reading the bible that God will hold me accountable for my faith and behaviors and I was convinced that despite the behaviors of some church members, I should try to live the life of a christian person. That is now my daily goal.

During a Men's Ministry breakfast in 2007,Pastor Kennedy was sitting at the same table with me. In our conversation, I revealed that I was retired and he asked me if I was interested in working for the church part-time. I told him I was not interested in a job but would volunteer in some capacity for the church. I have being doing that since then. It is a very challenging assignment when dealing with people. However, with God's guidance, I hope to continue to be of service to the church community.
